The OmRun Training program is a three month training program that helps all runners, including first timers start slowly, and improve steadily and be able to run upto a Half Marathon by the end of the three months. The training program is created, managed and run by very experienced runners, some of whom have run in excess of 50 Marathons.
Training Starts January 19, 2019
Every trainee has a MentorEvery trainee that signs up for the program is assigned a mentor who works with other mentors and the Coaches to direct the runners in his/her progress. The mentor assigned is typically based on physical location for weekday runs.
Weekday and Weekend Group Training
The training is split in two parts, weekday and weekend runs. Weekday runs usually involves running 2-3 times a week for shorter distances close to your home in small groups with their assigned mentor. The Weekend run, is where a large group meets together in one location and we all run longer distances together. Three such groups meet, one each in Fremont, San Ramon or San Jose/Los Gatos.
Trainees receive weekly updates on location and time for Weekend meets from the coaches.

Om Run 2019 Kids Training Program
After a successful program last year, we look forward to welcoming the kids from last year as well as lots of new kids for the Om Run 2019 training program. The younger kids really enjoyed having their own training program. It is a great way to build their own “running community” ! The training program is for 5K and 10K.
Let us instill in our children a regimen of fitness that they can carry out throughout their lives!!
Day: Every Sunday
Starting from: January 20, 2019
Start Time: 4:30pm – 5:30pm
Location: Campbell Community Center,(meet at the track)
1 W Campbell Ave, Campbell, CA 95008
Minimum Age: 5 years
The training will start with a fun warm-up routine, a walk/run, followed by the post-run stretching routine. It is very important that you arrive on time (remember, early is on-time, on-time is late!!) to participate in the warm-up routine and stay after the run for the stretching. Both these are extremely important to avoid running related injuries or soreness after the run.
NO DROP-OFFS – At least one parent or adult needs to be with their child(ren) at all times.
While Omrun volunteers are glad to mentor your child, taking responsibility for your child is a major liability and Omrun will not take responsibility for your child nor will we take any exceptions lightly – NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE**
Om Run has been a great learning experience for me. The mentors have always been supportive, enabled me to remain focused and constantly provided pointers for improvement. As a beginner, I’ve learnt the importance of staying committed and pushing myself gently to be able to achieve my goal to run a 10k. A friendly group of runners to exchange notes is an added bonus. I would highly recommend Om Run to someone who is on the fence to take the plunge, you will surprise yourself!Veena
It was an amazing experience for a first time runner like me. The constant motivation from the mentors and fellow runners helped me keep going. Thank you!
My kids also had a very good experience and we look forward to the race next year.
The arrangements were flawless and it was all very well organized. Thank you to all the volunteers for spending the time and effort.
I started running almost a decade back at the urging of my husband and even completed a few half marathons. At some point I was introduced to the group “Om Run”. Although I was familiar with it, running, as an activity never truly became a friend. That changed when I joined Om runners. The gentle,
no-pressure nature of coaches, easy-going attitude and the entire program made me into a habitual runner without me even realizing it. Thanks to them, this year, I ran all 12 calendar months out in the open, culminating in a sub-5 full marathon at the CIM. Their focus on the Galloway style of training fit naturally for me, and I am now hooked on to it. With the encouragement of coaches, the ever availability of someone willing to partner for training runs, and smaller focussed teams, the environment makes it not just an easy and attractive activity but enormously enjoyable too. They have a unique style which is not intrusive, is very observant and includes casual encouragement that can ease anyone into running as a primary and joyful endeavor, regardless of one’s background. I cannot thank the group enough for my accomplishments this year which include 2 major milestones in my running career, namely a personal best for half marathons in a decade and a strong finish for first ever full. Kudos “Om Run” and a heartfelt thank you!
Its a Journey
Training with team Om Run is not just a means to a goal but a beautiful journey in itself. The camaraderie inculcated during Om Run training has resulted in lifelong friendships and life changing habits to stay fit.
