Om Run was launched in 2009 to bring the Chinmaya Family in the greater SF Bay Area together for a fun filled day of outdoor activities for both kids and adults. This is a Run that is way more than a Run. It’s a day filled with fun activities for all age groups.

Om Run has been held annually since 2010, hosting more than 2000 runners and several hundreds of spectator attendees annually in April. It is the largest community building event organized by CMSJ, which is fun for the whole family. Om Run attracts athletes from across the Bay Area, including participants who are industry leaders from Silicon Valley. The race delivers athletes a singular experience. Runners find The OM Run to be unparalleled in its union of challenge and beauty.

Beautiful Vasona Park was the host for Om Run in 2017. It was held at the Quarry Lakes RRA in 2011, 2013 and 2016 and at Hellyer County Park in 2014 and 2015.
2018 sees us again at Vasona Park.

OM Run 2018

Swami Bodhatmanadaji in his write up for OM Run 2013 expresses the vision of Om Run to bring the entire Chinmaya Family together for a day filled with outdoor fun and activities.

Hari Om!

Welcome to Om Run 2013. It gives me great pleasure to have all of you here to share this special occasion with the Chinmaya Family. With the grace and blessings of our Pujya Gurudev and Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji (the current Head of Chinmaya Mission), our Mission has grown leaps and bounds over the last few years. In Bay Area too, Chinmaya Mission has grown significantly. Om Run offers an opportunity for the entire Chinmaya Mission family to become health conscious, meet each other and have a fun filled day of activities together. With about 20 days to go, Om Run 2013 is promising to be our most attended Om Run thus far.

Om Run is a family day of fun and activities for all ages. Besides bringing the CMSJ family together it promotes a healthy lifestyle in a fun filled way. It provides members an opportunity to learn more about the Mission and allows children and adults to bond with each other outside the classroom. It gives the members an excellent opportunity to serve, drawing more than 200 volunteers. The volunteers work alongside with the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra – our young adult members many of whom are graduates of our Bala Vihar program. The CHYKs with their youth and enthusiasm are eager to serve the CMSJ family.

Besides collecting donations for the Mission’s activities, Om Run 2013 is also giving back to the community. Because of your generosity we will be contributing to Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development (CORD) in India, and Friends of Independent Networks (FINS), a local nonprofit supporting an adult day program to assist developmentally disabled individuals.

Thank you very much for being part of the Chinmaya Family. The Mission’s motto is to provide maximum happiness to maximum number of people. By turning our attention away from our differences and working together for a common goal we slowly inch our way to see the Oneness in all of us. May you have a happy fun filled Om Run! May the grace and blessings of Pujya Gurudev and Pujya Guruji always shine forth on all of us!

With Love and Om
